Alamut provides a convenient access to BIOBASE's Human Gene Mutation Database (HGMD® Professional) and Genome Trax™. To access these features you need to get a professional license from BIOBASE.
BIOBASE's features can be activated into the Options dialog box (menu 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Display' tab) by ticking the appropriate boxes.
These features rely on the HTTPS protocol. If your institution requires a proxy, check that the HTTPS settings are properly set in the Options dialog box (menu 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'General' tab, see also installing Alamut).
Alamut 2.0 (released in December 2010) introduced mutations from HGMD® which are available in a dedicated track.
Clicking right on a mutation displays a menu which enables to refer easily to PubMed and BIOBASE sources.
Alamut 2.1 (released in December 2011) introduced annotations from Genome Trax™ which are available in a dedicated track.
Clicking right on an annotation displays a menu which enables to refer easily to different sources according to the nature of the annotation.
If HGMD® is activated in Alamut, HGMD mutations will not be visible in the Genome Trax™ track.
