New Features in Alamut version 1.3 (Feb. 2008)
- This release features
a new splicing prediction module. Alamut now integrates 3 in silico
splice signal detection methods: a SpliceSiteFinder-like
algorithm, MaxEntScan
and GeneSplicer.
Furthermore, known human splice junction n-mers are also reported, giving the user
a number of theoretical clues about the effects of variants on splicing
(see the
Splicing Module Documentation). This module is no longer restricted to
substitutions and can now work with all types of
variations handled by Alamut.
- PolyPhen, a variant-scoring web site, is back.
Alamut now directly automates Internet Explorer to pre-fill forms
for PolyPhen, SIFT and the more recent
Align GVGD. (This new feature is only
available on Windows).
- Alamut now handles more correctly tandem substitutions leading
to a missense.
- ...and a few usability enhancements.
