New Features in Alamut version 1.2 (Nov. 2007)
Besides adding support for mitochondrial genes, this release fixes a number of problems related to transcript mapping, and features better data quality. As a consequence, it is highly recommended to use this new version.
This new version features:
- Support for the 13 mitochondrial protein-coding genes, based on the Revised Cambridge Reference Sequence (AC_000021).
- Transcript mapping bugs fixed (see Warning below). Now Alamut
finely handles differences between transcript sequences and
the human genome reference sequence. So, computation of mutation
consequences at protein level should now always be correct.
(Note that now, where sequences differ, nucleotide bases are highlighted in the transcript track.) - Mutation-related PubMed citations now displayed either by date or by mutation.
- Ability to perform approximate (BLAST-like) sequence searches.
- Genomic (or mitochondrial) nomenclature added to mutation reports and coordinate tooltips.
- Better description of alternative transcripts.
- Ortholog accession Ids now displayed.
- Direct link to HGMD added after locus-specific databases list.
- New Google button to ease mutation search over the internet.
