As of May 15, 2009, the problems described below should no longer occur with the new distribution files of Alamut 1.5, and the Windows upgrade mentioned here is no longer required.
On some Windows XP systems, one of the following messages appears when trying to launch Alamut 1.5:
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002).
or
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
Since Alamut 1.5 was created with very recent Microsoft technology, a system upgrade is needed on some configurations. Microsoft provides a downloadable package for this purpose:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
